IRVING, Texas – No. 2 Texas Rowing's Second Eight was named the Big 12 Boat of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. The Longhorns earned the weekly conference honor after a dominating victory at No. 9 Michigan on Saturday. It marked the second week in a row in which the Longhorns earned the honor.
The Texas II Eight featured sophomore coxswain Amy Werner, as well as junior Sue Holderness, freshman Paula Becher, freshman Rhiannon Luke, sophomore Allie Alton, freshman Phoebe Wise, junior Taryn Kooyers, sophomore Savvy Jerome and junior Anna Garrison.
