I honestly have to look at how to write Dubie’s name every time, so I’m just going to go with Dubie for the rest of this post. The New York Islanders were a scrappy team in 2006-2007, and no one really expected them to make the playoffs.
The last two weeks of that season actually reminded me of this past season, with the Islanders needing a miracle in the final four games to have a chance to get in. They were one point back of Toronto after winning three straight games, and Toronto finished their season a day earlier.
