UK men's basketball team to help Kentucky flood victims with open practice, telethon

The University of Kentucky men's basketball team is helping raise money after historic flooding killed at least 37 people and devastated 13 counties in Eastern Kentucky last week.

On Tuesday, the team will hold an open practice and take calls during the Kentucky Flood Relief Telethon at Lexington's Rupp Arena. The student-athletes will take calls from 5 to 6 p.m. and practice from 6:30 to 8 p.m., a press release states.

Doors to the arena open at 5 p.m. with seating on a first come, first served basis. Attendees will be asked donate to the American Red Cross before entering, and 100% of proceeds will benefit the immediate needs of Kentucky residents impacted by the floods, the release says.
